Andrea & Orendorff LLP has an excellent opportunity for a Staff Accountant II/Analyst to work with the Kenosha County Information Technology Department. This Department is responsible for an over $7 million annual budget including capital and operations.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
While working for our CPA firm and its government team, this unique outsourced position provides:
- Accounting & consultative support to the county IT department,
- Daily department fiscal operations activities,
- Implementation and maintenance of a streamlined set of systems, controls, and procedures that achieve compliance with GAAP and County instituted policies,
- Design of spreadsheets and reports using County reporting software.
- Fiscal analysis for ongoing monitoring and forecasting.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required plus a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in accounting.
- Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- An aptitude for data analytics and creativity in evaluating data and creating reports.
- Ability to develop, review, interpret and relay financial information to management, governance and staff with strong communications skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
- Developed computer skills and advanced working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word, is required. Knowledge of use of Microsoft Power BI and ability to learn other reporting and data software. The County uses Dynamics AX as its ERP system which is being upgraded to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Due to the nature of our industry; confidentiality, honesty and ethical behavior is of the utmost importance.
- Reports to the County Finance Director with a dotted line to the County CIO.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
- ANALYSIS – Demonstrated creative ability to develop and analyze budgets and financial plans and projections, forecasting scenarios, prepare financial schedules, and produce accurate and concise reports for management and governance.
- ACCOUNTING – Timely completion of the department’s daily, monthly, and annual accounting duties.
- INTERNAL CONTROLS AND COMPLIANCE – Identify and suggest improvements to processes and internal controls following the guidelines of the county government structure.
