Job Duties:

  • Prepares and records, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Records and allocates payroll, verifying finished product.
  • Participates in external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Monitors and / or completes grant reporting for assigned Division grants.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Completes analysis requests and special projects as requested by the Fiscal Manager.
  • Reviews accounting work and trains staff on the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a 4-year accounting degree and at least 4 years of experience.
  • MBA or CPA certification or candidate is a plus.
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of clients and use of their general ledger systems.
  • Good phone communications skills.
  • Strong computer skills. Must have advanced experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Accuracy in daily work and other projects.
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of manager/partner.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with clients.
  • Ability to function as a team player which includes training and orientation of other staff.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of audit experience preferably in the government or not-for-profit industry or both.
  • Is a candidate for or holds an active CPA License.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organized, with ability to multi-task across many different engagements and clients.
  • Must be a “self-starter,” comfortable and productive working in a remote environment.
  • Enjoys working in a highly collaborative team focused environment.
